A PINK fun day has raised £1,200 for cancer charities.

The Parish family who live in Portishead decided to organise the event after a three-year-old family member was diagnosed with Leukaemia.

They hired a public hall and held a pink fashion show, a pink cake sale and organised stalls, tombola, refreshments and a raffle, with the aim of raising £1,000 for Cancer Research UK.

Grandmother Lyn Parish said: “It was a lot of hard work but we did it and raised £1,200 in total.” £1,000 will be donated to Cancer Research and £200 will go the oncology ward at Bristol’s children’s hospital where Lyn’s grandson is being treated.
