Charity shop staff are hoping to ‘say thank you to the community’ as they celebrate the store’s fifth birthday.

Pill’s St Peter’s Hospice shop will host a ‘thank you’ event this weekend to mark its birthday.

The one-day event will be held on Saturday at the shop, in High Street, from 11am-4pm where there will be Christmas gifts for sale, music and a children’s competition.

Lennie the bear, the hospice’s mascot, will also be down to entertain the crowd.

Area manager Louisa Merchant-Locke said: “This is a way to say thank you to the community for their support over the years.

“We really do see a lot of regulars coming in day in and day out and it is because of them that we have raised more than £100,000 in profit since we have been here in Pill.”

Visitors will also receive £5 off when they spend £20 on second-hand items on Saturday.
