Pill couple’s diamond day

A Pill couple are celebrated 60 years of marriage on Saturday.
Margaret – known by her middle name Elizabeth – and David Crafer, who live in Newsome Avenue, tied the knot in 1957 in Bristol.
Although Elizabeth was born in South Wales, the pair have spent most of their lives in Pill.
They met in the village four years marrying when Elizabeth was working at the Post Office and David was working at a signal box on the railway.
Elizabeth also spent time employed at the paper mill in Portishead while David went on to work in telecoms.
They have three children, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and spent their big day at home celebrating with family.
