DARING youngsters took to the ramps to show off their tricks during the Nailsea Community Skate Festival on Saturday.

Organised by Holy Trinity and Trendlewood churches and Christian Surfers UK, the popular event drew more than 40 participants and hundreds of spectators to the Scotch Horn park.

The event featured a contest for skateboarders, BMX riders, rollerbladers and scooter owners with some as young as 10 taking part.

Visitors could also enjoy face painting, volleyball, live music and performances from the Nailsea dance group, Simply Street.

Phil Williams of Christian Surfers UK said: “The day went really well and we had a great turn out.

“There were lots of smiling faces all around.”
