MORE than 1,400 dancers performed a huge range of pieces as part of a prestigious event at Backwell School.
The 2011 Bristol Dance Eisteddford was held from April 9 until Friday, with competitors aged between three and 19 taking part.
With 56 trophies and awards up for grabs, dancers from across the South West performed a range of genres including ballet, modern, tap, character, Greek and national.
An array of colourful costumes could be seen throughout the week and those taking part included dancers from the North Somerset-based Adele Stitch School of Dance and Jayne Elizabeth School of Dance.
