HUNDREDS of people attended the 116th Clevedon Flower Show and Festival at the weekend.

A break in the wet weather meant the annual event was a huge success, with organisers ‘pleasantly surprised’ at the high numbers of visitors despite the dismal forecast.

Held on the Salthouse Fields on Saturday and Sunday, the flower show saw about 180 exhibitors enter more than 330 classes for adults and children with their horticultural creations, arts and crafts, photography, food and drink and fruit and vegetables.

As well as the classes in the main marquee, the festival also included live music and entertainment, baton twirling, sheepdog and mountain bike demonstrations plus a companion dog show and a display of classic cars.

On Friday, an evening of live music from local bands was also put on for the public to enjoy.
