Green-fingered horticulturists showcased the fruits of their labour at a spring show at the weekend, where fabulous flowers caught the eye.
Portishead Spring Show attracted a decent crowd to the Folk Hall, in High Street, on Saturday – as people showed off the results of months of hard work in their gardens, greenhouses and allotments.
People entered exhibits in dozens of categories which included flowers, bulbs, cookery and photograpy.
Elaine Hall was one of the big winners at the show, winning first prize in the daffodils class.
Linda Hodgetts claimed a pair of awards, winning first prize in both the cacti and orchid categories.
Toni Parsons enjoyed success in the crafting category while Ann Grandfield wowed the judges with her floral art.
Mary Fielden’s pretty arrangement of flowers was also rewarded with a first-prize certificate.
