ADVENTUROUS village kids enjoyed taking part in a wide variety of action-packed activities at the start of the summer holidays.

Last week organisers at Congresbury Youth Partnership (CYP), a facility for village children which offers activities and sessions during the school terms and holidays, put together an extensive list of events for children in the community.

From July 25-29 many youngsters, aged eight and above, took part in sessions in raft building, sailing, tobogganing, arts and crafts, outdoor bowls, football, climbing, swimming, cooking in the woods, tennis, Olympic team games and much more.

Yatton and Congresbury Wildlife Action Group (YACWAG) hosted a walk and a talk on the wonders of water-based wildlife on Congresbury Millennium Green.

The children were able to make good use of the new dipping platform many enjoyed finding sticklebacks, water beetles and newts.
