Pet store searching for new charity partners

PUBLISHED: 16:00 20 March 2015

A NEW pet store set to open in Clevedon next week is launching a search for new charity partners.

Pets at Home, which is opening a new branch at Hither Green Industrial Estate, is hoping to make a difference to the pet community by creating partnerships with animal charities from the area through its independent charity, Support Adoption for Pets.

It will work closely with the new store to support selected animal welfare organisations and charities through a variety of activities, including in-store meet and greet events.

Selected charities will also be eligible to be nominated and take part in the national fundraising drives run by the charity over the course of the year.

Shelly Long, store manager at the Clevedon branch, said: “Our mission is to ensure that pets lead a happy and healthy life.

“We’d love to hear from any animal charities and
re-homing centres in the area so we can talk to them about Support Adoption for Pets and how we can help them.”

The new Clevedon store, set to open on March 26, will feature an adoption centre where pets such as rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs and other small animals can be cared for until a new home can be found for them.

Anyone with information on an animal charity or organisation should contact Support Adoption for Pets on stating Clevedon in the subject box. Those interested can also call Amy Wilson, Support Adoption for Pets charity manager, on 01614 863774.
