Permission for lake path

lake: Plans to build a path around Backwell Lake have been given the green light by North Somerset Council.

Backwell Access Group, which has been working on the proposal, is now submitting a bid to the Big Lottery Fund for 46,500.

Members are hoping for a decision soon as they are keen for the path to be installed before Christmas.

The path will enable disabled people and parents with pushchairs to access the beauty spot and Backwell Parish Council, Nailsea Town Council and Wessex Water, which owns the lake, are backing the scheme.
