A VOLUNTARY group which takes care of one of Nailsea’s popular parks is looking for more helpers.

The Friends of Trendlewood Park has been looking after the community area, off Trendlewood Way, for three years.

Each year it has received the Green Flag award, which recognises the best green spaces in the country.

The group consists of 11 regular volunteers who manage 10 acres of grassland, trees, hedges, footpaths, bridle paths and Nowhere Wood and members meet twice a month to hold work days.

The volunteers have just been given a grant from Nailsea Community Trust to pay for 10 high visibility vests.

Fran Newton said: “We want to let people know what work is going on in the park and if they see us we hope they’ll approach us to find out more.”

To volunteer call 07795 184608.
