YOUNG people in Portishead are once again broadcasting from Portishead Youth Centre.

The community radio station, renamed Radio PYC, is back on the airwaves this week, operating between the hours of 9am-10pm.

Former station manager, Kim Dodd, a youth support worker, has been running youth groups at the centre in preparation for the five-day broadcast, which can be heard on 87.9FM.

This year the station has two new managers, 17-year-old Charlie Laine and Declan Marlow aged 18. The two young people have been involved in the project for several years.

Radio PYC’s spring broadcast has been funded by the Quartet Community Foundation and from advertising revenue from local businesses.
