A PORTISHEAD police officer has been hailed a hero after rescuing a teenager from the town’s marina.
Members of the local police team raced to the scene at about 8.30pm on Saturday after an alarm was raised.
When the police arrived, a girl appeared to be in difficulty in the water so Sergeant Jim Robinson jumped in to help her. A successful rescue was carried out with the assistance of PCSO Kylie Inker, port staff and the fire service. The teenager was taken to hospital for treatment.
