GLYN Johns, a long-serving member of The Lions Club of Portishead, has died aged 67 after a short illness.
Glyn, who was a past president and the current year secretary, was a valued member of the Lions for more than 11 years, first serving in Fareham before transferring to Portishead.
He was a very active member, a prominent figure in the bird box making project at local schools, the Father Christmas float and in organising books for doctors’ surgeries. He and his wife Jean were also involved in lots of other club activities.
David Fitzpatrick, chairman of the Portishead club, said: “He will be sadly missed by us all, especially his wit and humorous comments at meetings. Our deepest sympathy, love and thoughts go to his wife Jean and all the family.”
