A Flax Bourton nursery has helped raise thousands of pounds for victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.
Charlton Nursery, in Main Road, held a series of fundraising events to support the Grenfell Nursery, which saw its premises and most of its toys and equipment lost in the horrific blaze in June.
Alongside its twin nurseries in Bristol, children and staff took part in cake sales, a sponsored bike ride, crazy hair days and an obstacle course to raise about £5,000.
A family fun day was also held at The Rising Sun in Backwell while brave staff had the opportunity to take part in a skydive.
Helen Nott, the nursery’s chief executive, said: “As well as being lots of fun, each day’s planned activities also had a clear message at heart, which allows us to talk about events like the Grenfell Tower in an age-appropriate way.
“We are keen to bring our community nurseries together to help the Grenfell community which has been so deeply affected by this awful tragedy.”
