Members of a Parkinson's support group are holding a number of events to raise awareness of the degenerative condition.

The North West Somerset branch of Parkinson’s UK offers a wide range of support for people diagnosed with the condition including comfort days, social events, singing groups, counselling, workshops and support sessions.

The group is holding a number of events to mark Parkinson’s Awareness Day.

A drop-in event will take place at the community hub in Nailsea High Street on April 11 from 10.30am-12.15pm.

People with Parkinson’s disease, their family members and carers can pop in to find out more.

In Portishead, the group will hold a coffee morning at the Folk Hall, High Street, on April 6 from 10am to noon.

People can meet health professionals and the Parkinson’s UK local advisor.
