A scrapped bus service between Clevedon and Yatton could be resurrected.

North Somerset Council is looking at the possibility of reviving the route which was axed by First Bus earlier this year.

Yatton Parish Council and Clevedon Town Council discussed the idea behind closed doors last week.

The latter was given a presentation by a North Somerset Council officer about the possibility.

A North Somerset spokesman said: "Following the loss of First bus service X7 between Yatton and Clevedon earlier this year, in contact with local town and parish councils to explore potential options to reinstate a service between these two areas.

"We will be looking to tender options with the market in the next few months with the hope of finding an affordable solution."

First cut the X7 earlier in the year claiming the route was not financially viable, but left villagers in Kenn without a daily bus service.
