A martial arts club has been launched in Portishead, giving people the chance to ‘improve fitness, focus and mental resilience’.

Fudoshin Dojo has been set up by expert instructor JP Edgington, teaching people
in the Japanese art of ninjutsu.

The club is based at Crossfit MPG, in the Harbour Road Trading Estate, offering weekly classes.

JP, who has close to 30 years experience in the martial art and boasts a 7th dan grading, ran dojos in Devon before moving to Portishead a decade ago.

He said: "Ninjutsu is a practical, effective martial art. It allows us to protect ourselves and others, increase our confidence and calm as well as improve our fitness, focus and mental resilience.

"We are slowly building numbers and it's a great time to get involved.

"Training is carried out in a very relaxed atmosphere.

"People have misconceptions about the art but change very quickly once they've tried it."
