Portishead Open Air Pool’s summer season has come to an end.

The popular attraction – which will continue to hold cold water swims on Saturdays – held a couple of end of season treats.

The pool raised about £1,200 for Macmillan Cancer Care with a coffee morning.

But swimmers got to enjoy an extra treat with a full moon swimming session while the water was heated.

Although the weather was a little chilly, it did not deter swimmers who snapped up the rare chance to swim under the moonlight.

Portishead Pool Community Trust hopes to run the night-time swimming sessions once a month next year during the summer season when the pool is heated. The unheated pool will be open from 9am to noon every Saturday until Christmas.
