A new fertility service will be launched in North Somerset, a move which has been described as ‘really good news’.
North Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has confirmed Bath Fertility will now provide fertility services such as IVF.
This comes after North Bristol NHS Trust announced it would stop providing a similar service.
The assisted conception service will also be rolled out in Bristol and Gloucesteshire.
The new provider will come into fruition in December and the CCG has made it clear current patients will not see any of their treatment paused.
Bristol CCG clinical chair, Dr Martin Jones, said: “As CCGs we are committed to funding high-quality assisted conception services. Bath Fertility has a track record of delivering specialist, licensed fertility services with higher than average success rates. All existing services will continue to be available to NHS patients.”
