New vicar for Portishead

PORTISHEAD has welcomed Reverend Christine Judson to the town.

Chris came from the parish of Highbridge, where she has served as training curate, having been ordained to the Church of England priesthood in 2008.

By coincidence, Reverend Sharon Crossman, who was team vicar in Portishead for the last eight years, is now installed as the incumbent at Chris’s former church, St John the Evangelist in Highbridge.

Rev Chris’s installation was followed by a lively gathering at Clarence House where friends from her former parish mingled with her new congregation. When asked about her first impressions of Portishead, Chris said: “Friendly, welcoming and kind.”
