TWO colourful new trees were planted in Trendlewood Park in Nailsea this week by a volunteer group.
After a cash donation from Nailsea Town Council, the group bought a crimson acer and a crimson hawthorn.
Friends chairman Pat Gilbert said: “They are specimen trees, they are not native but they were chosen for their foliage and blossoms. They were chosen for their appearance and their size, as they won’t grow to be too big.”
North Somerset Council owns the park but the Friends group helps to maintain it with two work days a month, and has planted a number of hedgerows to encourage wildlife.
