PORTISHEAD’S lifeboat was one of seven which took to the water as part of a special training exercise.
The volunteer crew has, for the past few months, been linking up with other emergency services to get a better understanding of their work practices and capabilities.
Most recently, they took part in an exercise involving 29 crew on seven lifeboats from Weston, Burnham, Penarth and Barry when they had the chance to also see how an all-weather trent lifeboat can be used during a major incident.
Previously, the Portishead crew had worked with Coastguards from the town as well as Avon Fire and Rescue Service to simulate an emergency and also took part in a mock mud rescue with Clevedon Coastguards.
