New town councillor for Clevedon

A new councillor has joined Clevedon Town Council.
Cllr Elizabeth Fone is the newest member to represent the Walton ward.
She said: “As a fairly new Clevedon import (via Bristol, Dorset and France), I am very excited to have been trusted to take on the role of town councillor for the Walton St Mary ward.
“I currently wear several hats as a small business owner, runner, ancient dog owner, and a mum-of-three, ranging from nearly 16 to 15 months.
“My interests revolve around my family, camping, my garden, music (I play violin in the Clevedon Music Ensemble and have recently started a writing collaboration with a well-known local musician) and previously amateur operatics.
“In a broader sense, I am an active campaigner for social justice, equality and inclusion and also passionate about green issues. Transition Clevedon was the first group I joined when I arrived in Clevedon and we’ve enjoyed picking cider apples from the community orchard as a family and look forward to many more community activities in the future.
“I was elected on the back of my stated commitment to local community, which was a primary reason for moving to Clevedon, and environmental causes – where I feel that Clevedon can become a regional leader.
“We hope as a family to be able to join in with supporting our community in all it’s guises – and I personally look forward to serving your interests now and in the future.”
