New orchard for Flax Bourton
A NEW orchard and wildlife site is to be set up in Flax Bourton.
Sustrans has acquired half an acre of land from Wessex Water near Station Road and the company is hoping to turn it into a community orchard.
Sustrans is now looking for villagers to help set up the orchard, look after it and enjoy the apples.
Staff are trying to locate remnant apple varieties from the old local orchards which are believed to be growing in private gardens.

Villagers are being invited to provide cuttings from their trees to help fill the orchard. Anyone interested in helping out can contact Rupert Crosbee on 0117 915 0228.
