New allotment site for Nailsea?
GAULACRE in Nailsea could be turned into allotments if Nailsea Town Council agrees to the proposal.
The ten-acre stretch of land at Engine Lane is owned by Nailsea Town Council but is currently being leased to a local farmer.
Nailsea Town Council already has allotments in Whitesfield Road and Engine Lane, both on the west side of town, but there are still 90 people on the waiting list waiting for a plot.
The council had been searching for land in the east of Nailsea for several years, but due to calls from members of the public it will be discussing using the Gaulacre site at the next meeting of the town council’s leisure committee.
