Popular cycle path in Portbury cleared by volunteers

Nine volunteers worked together to clear a well-used path in Portbury on Saturday.
Four people from Sustrans, a charity promoting cycling and walking, were joined by cyclists from North Somerset.
Together, they cleared a stretch of the off-road section of the National Cycle Network Route 26 at Sheepway.
They spent Saturday morning clearing the path, and plan to carry out further work in February.
Andrew Youngs, a Sustrans volunteer ranger, said: “It is hoped a further work morning can be held in February to clear further sections of the path.
“Approximately 40 cyclists, walkers and runners used the path between 10am and noon on Saturday, illustrating how well used the path is.”
Route 26 runs from Portishead to Dorset via Wells, Castle Cary, Yeovil and Dorchester.
