Volunteers have been
busy out and about in Nailsea collecting litter this week.

Members of the Better Nailsea group and Rotary Club of Nailsea & Backwell gathered at the car park in Clevedon Road to collect dozens of black bags full of litter found in the area.

There were also some slightly unusual finds including a car wheel and exhaust pipe.

Litter picks have been taking place across the district in recent months.

Last month Portishead’s beach clean attracted a great turnout while charity Clevedon Pride holds regular litter picking events.

The Times is also running its Cleaner Coastlines campaign to try to reduce the amount of single-use plastic used in North Somerset with a view to achieving Plastic-Free Coastline Status.
