Members of a repair café put their skills to good use by creating a cabinet for a Wraxall children’s charity.

Mel Jefferies, from Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), appealed to the Nailsea Shedders for help after its cardboard shelving collapsed.

The group, which runs a repair café from the scout hut in Hannah More Road every Tuesday, was happy to help.

Volunteers created a bespoke cabinet sturdy enough to accommodate files.

Thornbury Swing Band also donated money to cover the cost of the materials.

CHSW wrote to Nailsea Shedders to thank the group for the ‘fantastic’ cabinet.

A Nailsea Shedders spokesman said: “We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to Thornbury Swing Band for their incredibly generous donation which funded the materials to make the cabinet, with £45 left over to then donate to CHSW.”

The group also thanked Paul Davies, who designed the cabinet.
