Students from Nailsea School took part in Rotary, Nailsea and Backwell’s young photographer of the year contest.

This year’s theme was nature and the entries were judged by three experienced photographers from Backwell Camera Club and the Rotary.

Ciaran Sharp won the senior category, while Amelie Peace was awarded first prize in the 11-13 age-group.

Organiser Bob Keightley said: “We were most impressed by the standard of entries, which goes up every year, making judging increasingly difficult.

“We were also taken by the enthusiasm shown by a large number of entrants.”

Ciaran and Amelie will be entered into the district round against from more than 60 Rotary clubs.

If they are successful, they will go on to the national contest.
