A number of students from Nailsea School entered the Young Photographer Of The Year contest which is held in schools across the country.

The theme for this year’s competition was ‘a different perspective’ and the judges were impressed by the ‘extremely high standard’ of entries.

The task was to produce three photos on the category along with a brief sentence to explain what each photo represented and how it tied in with the theme.

Shaza Lee, aged 13, won the 11-13 age group and Rose Jones, aged 14, scored top marks in the 14-17 age group.

The winners were presented with a certificate and a £25 token.

They will now be up against winners from 60 other rotary districts.

If they are successful, Shaza and Rose will take part in the national final.
