A pub has donated hundreds of pounds to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) after a successful fun day.

The Royal Oak, in Nailsea High Street, invited people in for live music, a reptile show and a barbecue.

Face-painting, a tombola, stalls and a sweet shop also drew in crowds, raising £861 for the Wraxall charity.

Landlady Gemma Mamo said: "Thank you to everyone who came along and helped us support such a worthy cause.

"It was a fantastic day at the Royal Oak and we're really excited to do another event in future to support the hospice as well.

"All the team worked really hard to make the day a success but we couldn't have done it without our customers' generosity.

"Thank you to everyone who got involved on the day and made it happen."

Emma Parker, from CHSW, thanked the Royal Oak team for its support. She said: "We are so grateful for the support of the community of Nailsea."
