Nailsea Lions donated funds to 11 organisations.


Nailsea Lions has donated hundreds of pounds to 11 organisations.

The charitable group has handed out £2,600 in total to charities and good causes in Nailsea, Backwell and Long Ashton to help them complete their projects.

The funds were donated to Nailsea Lions through the Christmas float collection and other festive fundraising activities.

In the past, there has been one main beneficiary, but this year the Lions decided to donate the funds to a number of smaller groups.

Donations ranging from £100-500 were dished out to 1st Backwell Scouts, North Somerset Wellbeing, Long Ashton Memory Club, Long Ashton Shedders, Nailsea Shedders, Nailsea & Backwell Macular Support Group, Nailsea Prostate Group, Nailsea & District Community Transport, Homestart, Great Western Air Ambulance and The Friends of Trendlewood Park.
