A young inventor from Nailsea will star on BBC’s Dragons’ Den on Sunday.

Chris Frappell, aged 26, is the founder of Tru-Tension which makes motorcycle products.

Chris, who has been sworn to secrecy about the results of the show, is delighted to have won a place on the programme.

He said: “It was such an amazing and exciting experience pitching to the dragons.

“The show will give my brand and range of products more exposure than a small business that started in a garage in Nailsea could possibly imagine.

“I simply cannot wait for the show to air. After three years of hard work, my unique products are going to be on one of the biggest business shows in the world.”

Tru-Tension produces a wide range of products for motorcyclists, from tools and cleaning products for commuters and adventure bike riders, to lubricants and accessories for high performance racing.

Chris was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at the age of four, and has battled with ill-health throughout his life.

The first product he developed was chain monkey – a motorcycle chain tensioning tool which caught the BBC production team’s eye.

His invention also led to him winning £2,000 from the Cystic Fibrosis Trust following his success at the Bright Ideas Awards in 2017.

He said; “I don’t let it stop me, I’ve always wanted to grow a business. It motivates me more than anything, and I love the buzz I get from it every

day. I hope my story inspires others with difficulties like mine.”

Tru-Tension will feature on Dragons’ Den on Sunday at 9pm on BBC2.
