Bakers and gardeners prepare for summer show

Crafts, flowers, photos and cakes will be on display at Nailsea’s popular summer show next month.

Nailsea Horticultural Society is looking forward to its ever-popular show on August 3, which celebrates gardening and handicraft.

People can enter more than 270 classes, ranging from vegetables and flowers through to cookery, crafts and photography.

There are also separate classes for children, sponsored by Nailsea Community Trust, where youngsters can get creative in art, handicrafts and cookery.

Filton Concert Brass Band will entertain visitors and homemade cakes and refreshments will be available.

The show is taking place at Nailsea School, in Mizzymead Road, from noon to 5pm, with presentations at 4.30pm and entry is £2.

Show schedules and entry forms are available from Nailsea Library and PS Travel, Station Road and the last date for entries is July 31.
