Nailsea gears up for carnival
THE organisers of Nailsea Carnival are looking for revellers to take part in the colourful spectacle this year.
Members of the 1st Nailsea Scout Group are holding the event on July 2 and the festivities will include a procession of floats and walking entries as well as a fair on Scotch Horn field with bouncy castles, line dancing, live music and a car boot sale.
The scout group is currently raising money to replace the hall at its training and activity centre on Clevedon Road and all the money from the carnival will go towards the project.
Martin Weavers, chairman of Friends of First Nailsea said: “The carnival is always a great success and it is so nice to have everyone in the local community join in.
“We are looking for people to join in the procession, either with a float or on foot, or those who would like to have an afternoon stall on the field. As ever, we’re also grateful for any offers of help in running the event.”
The carnival possession starts at 1pm from Clevedon Road car Park and the fair at Millennium Park will be open from 12.30-5pm. The car boot sale runs from 10am–5pm with single pitches priced at 5.
All the information about the carnival, entry forms for the procession and application forms for stall-holders are available to download at www.friendsoffirstnailsea.co.uk
