A BALLOON which was launched from Nailsea in aid of the Nailsea Uganda Water Project was discovered near Maidstone in Kent.

Mark Senior, who lives in Braintree, won the prize for releasing the winning balloon which travelled 139 miles to East Malling.

A host of balloons were set off in September to mark the launch of the community project which aims to provide safe drinking water to six villages in Uganda.

Generous supporters have helped to raise almost £20,000 towards the project so far and organisers would like to thank everyone who contributed to the cause.
