Organisers of the Nailsea and Backwell Beer and Cider Festival have donated thousands of pounds to a children's charity.

Hundreds of people enjoyed the three-day event which took place at Nailsea and Backwell Rugby Club in July with music and plenty of drinks to sample.

The festival committee was delighted to be able to hand £15,000 to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) in Wraxall after the successful event.

Kylie Gallagher, from CHSW, said: “We are immensely grateful for the continued support of the Nailsea beer festival each year.

“The generous amount donated could pay for a nurse at Charlton Farm for six months and makes a huge difference in helping us raise money for the hospice.”

This year’s festival will take place on July 12-14 at the rugby club in Nailsea Park.
