Motorists are being advised to expect delays on a stretch of the M5 in Somerset after a collision.

According to Highways England, an incident on the northbound carriageway between junction 20 Clevedon and junction 19 Gordano is causing heavy traffic this morning (Sunday, December 15).

Highways England said it was two lanes running past the scene and are hopeful this will ease traffic.

A spokesman said there are delays of more than 30 minutes on the approach with four miles of queuing traffic back towards junction 20.

Fire crews from Weston and Clevedon are attending the incident and have advised motorists to expect delays.

An ambulance is also on the scene.

Update 10.28am: Highways England say all three lanes are open and vehicle recovery has taken place.
