An 'exuberant' and 'joyful' toddler is one step closer to getting a personalised prosthetic leg.

Irving Prowse hosted a book sale for Finley Williams, whose parents launched an appeal last month to raise more than £8,000 for a new prosthetic leg after his was amputated when he was just 11 months old.

The event, which was held at Congresbury War Memorial Hall, saw Mr Prowse selling books, DVDs, games, toys and more in a bid to raise money for the two-year-old boy.

It raised £255.70 which will be added to the current £9,000 total the family has raised.

Mr Prowse said: “On behalf of Finley Williams and his parents Katie and Jake, I would like to thank all who generously supported the special book sale.

“Finley and his parents stayed for over two hours, everyone enjoying his exuberance and his joy at being able to run around, racing with anyone who would join in.”
