A Clevedon club has handed out more than £1,000 to seven local organisations.

The Clevedon Yeo Rotary Club has presented a portion of a £1,200 pot to Clevedon First Responders, The Jack Hazeldine Foundation, The Greyfriars friendship club, The Za Foundation, Contact The Elderly, the 6th Clevedon Guides and 2nd Clevedon Scouts.

The donations will allow support for local youth activities, education in schools and emergency first response.

Tony Carrington, club president, said: “These are all organisations working hard in our town providing activities and support across a wide range of people.

“This will enable kit to be purchased, events to be supported and we are proud to substantially contribute towards the first responders’ car insurance for another year.”

Mr Carrington thanked the town’s people for their support.
