A Portishead dance club is ‘over the moon’ after receiving a grant.

Aspire School of Dance, in West Hill, has received a donation worth £1,000 from Addo Food Group (AFG) - the business behind Wall's Pastry.

The club was one of 202 groups vying for a share of a £5,000 kitty, with the top five groups in a poll receiving a share.

Aspire topped the leaderboard, and will use the cash for costumes and equipment.

Its spokesman Kelly Chapman said: "Thank you Wall's Pastry and everyone who took part.

"Everyone at Aspire School of Dance is over the moon and can't wait to use the costumes and equipment we purchase with the prize money."

Michael Holton, of AFG, said: "We are passionate about our local communities and it was fantastic to see so many people rallying together to show their support for these clubs."
