A memorial bench will act as a ‘lasting tribute’ to people who have lived in Clevedon but are no longer alive.

Clevedon Lions held a dedication ceremony on September 21 to honour members who have died.

The bench, near the seafront bandstand, was donated to the charity and it wanted it to act as a memorial for years to come.

A Lions spokesman said: "The ceremony was led by president Glynn Hill and attended by members of Clevedon Lions Club together with the district governor Jim Partridge-Hogbin, 1st vice district governor David Fitzpatrick and Clevedon town councillor Jane Geldart.

"Members of the public were welcomed onto the bandstand for refreshments and had the opportunity to take part in several games.

"Luckily the weather was very favourable."

The first commemoration was in name of Stuart McNeall who died in May 2018.
