Motorbike riders will gather to remember one of their own who was killed in a crash in North Somerset.

They will meet on Sunday for the annual memorial ride and pay respects to David Loudon.

Jock, as he was known, died in an accident on the Portbury Hundred in 2008.

Every year since his widow Kath Loudon has organised a ride in his memory, raising money for road safety charities. This year’s ride will be held on Sunday.

Kath hopes to build on last year’s ride which marked a decade since Jock died.

She said: “We are fundraising for Road Peace – one of our main organisers of this tribute to Jock who tragically lost his own life during a charity cycle ride from Land’s End to John o’ Groats.”

Riders will meet at the Argos car park in Portishead, off Wyndham Way, at 10am.

From there they will head to Bristol and stop at Clevedon seafront for refreshments at 5 The Beach.
