A WITTY script revised by Stephen Fry is sure to keep audiences entertained in Clevedon Light Opera Club’s latest offering.
The group will put on Me and My Girl at the Princes Hall in Princes Road, Clevedon, from Tuesday to March 16.
It tells the tale of Bill Snibson, a cockney man who suddenly becomes heir to an earldom. With one small snag, he has to prove to the gentry and the duchess that he is a fit and proper person.
To complicate matters, Snibson refuses to leave his sweetheart and fellow cockney Sally Smith, and has to deal with the duchess’ daughter who has her eye on the title.
The show is set in the glamorous 1930’s and features well-known songs such as Leaning on a Lamppost, The Lambeth Walk, The Sun Has Got His Hat On and Me and My Girl.
Tickets, priced £9-10, are available by calling 07971 553911, from Souk in The Triangle or the Princes Hall and also online at www.clevedonlightoperaclub.btck.co.uk
