Primary schools around the country will get together to try to reduce the amount of plastics used, with a Clevedon school joining the fight.

Mary Elton Primary School is encouraging as many people and schools as possible to learn a song which has been written about the problem.

The schools are using STEM solutions to help with their efforts to raise awareness of the issue, including the song which will be sung for World Oceans Day.

Mary Elton teacher Cheryl Brown said: “We hope by getting as many schools to sing this song on one day, that they will be to encourage leaders to take more action to stop plastic pollution.

“We look forward to all singing it on June 7.

“Let’s make them take note with this powerful, child-written song.”

Students want others to learn the song, which can be found at www.maryelton.greenhousecms.co.uk
