A PORTISHEAD couple will celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary today (Thurs).
Alan and Mary Pinnell, of Pegasus Court in Brampton Way, married at St Mary’s Church in Henbury on June 21, 1952.
The couple, who have three children and seven grandchildren, are planning a celebratory meal with family and will be enjoying a party on Saturday evening.
Mary, aged 81, and Alan, aged 80, lived in Portishead in the 1970s but moved to Bristol in 1981 to run a post office together. They returned 18 months ago and say they wanted to live in the town again because they have such happy memories of Portishead.
