Following the success of last month’s Clevedon Tides Festival, MARLENS is calling on the community to take part in its lottery scheme.

The MARLENS Lottery has been created as a way of bringing regular income into the charity and allow it to continue with the development of Marine Lake, which is due to reopen this week.

A year’s subscription to the scheme costs £60 upfront, or £5 per month, with the monthly prize winner winning 50 per cent of each month’s income, while the other half will go to MARLENS.

Joe Norman, MARLENS’ chairman, said: “More funds are needed to pay for activities at the lake in the long term as well as future developments such as taking on staff to maintain the lake and add more facilities such as a changing room block.

“That’s why, among other schemes, MARLENS has launched a lottery to create a steady income to help run Marine Lake throughout the year, following its renovation.”

More volunteers are also wanted take part in the planning and running of next year’s tides festival.
