Man arrested after three injured in car crash
TWO teenagers were seriously injured after the car they were in collided with a parked car and ended up in the garden of a Clevedon property.
The collision occurred just after 10pm on Friday when a red Ford Escort struck a parked car in Kenn Road.
The two people in the front of the vehicle fled the scene before the emergency services arrived and police are now appealing for any witnesses to the incident.
The 19-year-old pregnant woman in the back of the car was taken to hospital with stomach and chest pains and a 17-year-old boy also suffered serious pelvic, abdominal and leg injuries and had to be cut out of the car by rescue crews after he became trapped in the wreckage.
A third male in the back of the car received minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested for failing to stop at the scene of a collision and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries. An 18-year-old woman was also arrested and later released without charge.
Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call police on 0845 456 7000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
