A 24-year-old man has been arrested after a teenager was assaulted in Clevedon on Friday night.

A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a chest injury following a disturbance in the Mantle Close and Moor Lane area at around 7pm.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary are appealing for witnesses to the incident.

A police spokesman said: "A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a chest injury which was not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and has since been released under investigation while an 18-year-old man has voluntarily attended a police station for interview.

"Enquiries are continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 quoting reference 5219247736."
